Royal Palm TreeThe Royal palm tree (Roystonea regia, Roystonea elata) is native to Florida, the Caribbean Islands, and the adjacent coasts of Central and South America.

In its natural habitat the Royal Palm grows in warm and moist soils of the Everglades, tropical hardwood hammocks, mucklands, mangrove swamps and coastal prairies of Central and South America, and the Caribbean Islands. The regal tree thrives in these areas with heat, moisture and in warm temperatures.

In its natural habitat Roystonea elata germinates easily and rapidly from seed. The seeds are dispersed by wind, birds and bats.
